Long Time No Post

Dang, it's been a long time since I posted! Well, this is what has kept me busy:

1) First, prepping for the wedding
2) Then the wedding & honeymoon (in Vegas with LOTS of food - I think I ate my way through Vegas - naughty me)
3) Then having my carpets ripped up and moving my husband in all at the same time (no access to kitchen for THREE WEEKS!)
4) Then a business trip
5) And more of the usual "you're going to be terminated" stress that has just gone up another notch

Needless to say, I haven't really been on plan until the last week and a half. When I finally crawled back to my WW meeting I was waaaay up - the highest weight I've ever been = 284.2!!! Yikes. No wonder life is so uncomfortable for me right now. Good thing my leader is letting me "start over" so that my goals and accomplishments will be guaged against that - my highest weight ever. When I get down to 124, I want to be able to say YES, I lost 160lbs!

Anyway, I'm focusing on one small goal at a time. . . the first one being that I want to give myself a Christmas present. I want to weigh in the 260's by then, which is a MUCH more comfortable weight. Things become very difficult once I weigh over 270. I hope to have more mobility, etc. by Christmas. I'm also focusing on exercize, of course. I do plan to get up to 72 laps/day 6x/week, but that goal is a long way away. I WAS up to 48 laps before all this madness, so I'm suprized that I can barely do 20 right now - but that is where it's at. It must be the extra weight and the fact that I'm out of shape. But, 20 is where I'm starting, and I'm going to add 4 laps/week as I can until I get to 72.

My husband has joined WW with me and it's been interesting watching a "newbie" adjust to the plan. It's so awesome that he's supporting me in this way. :-) I started up again the week before he did (last week) and lost 5 of those 284.2 lbs in my "first" week. YAY! I've never lost that much in one week - I must have been bloated. But, I'm happy anyway because I'm down in the 270's! I was planning to wait until he started, but I just couldn't stay away from WW - I was feeling so fat and uncomfortable. I'm so glad I went and lost those 5 pounds right off the bat.

I have also bought a motivational book from WW - it's one of the older ones - Re-inventing Yourself with the Duchess. Interesting book so far - makes me think of my career quagmire more than weight loss, though. I feel I've got weight loss under control for the moment, but work is just not going so well. . .

Just like before, I could be terminated any second. But now my boss is documenting "poor performance" and I have to document right back why he is wrong. HR and the president of our company is now involved, and I'm considering getting a lawyer. What a mess! Especially since there are no "jobs on the horizon" as far as my job search is going. I've really got to step that up before I lose my head.
